Early Start Program
For Families of children birth through 3
The Early Start Program serves infants and toddlers with hearing loss, vision impairment, and orthopedic needs in Glendale, Burbank, and La Canada. Services are home-based and family-centered. Services in this program are at no cost to the family, regardless of income. Referrals can be made by a parent, pediatrician, regional center, or clinic. After the referral, a service coordinator will reach out to the family and assist coordination of assessments to determine eligibility. An Initial IFSP (Individual Family Service Plan) will be held following an assessment to discuss the child’s eligibility, parent concerns and priorities, create outcomes and determine services. The Early Start Program provides families with the following services when applicable:
- Home Visits by highly-trained professionals
- Speech Therapy
- Vision Services
- Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services
- Parent-Infant-Toddler Groups
- Parent Education
